In this video from Overlander.tv you can see some of the main attactions you would expect to visit if you spend some time in Canberra. They include Parliament House, War Memorial, National Gallery, Questacon – National Science and Technology Centre and the National Museum.
Most of the attractions are clustered around Lake Burley Griffin which is at the centre of the city.
The video also mentions the adult shops which are in themselves a popular attraction for many interstate visitors.
There is also footage of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy which has been located at the front gardens of Old Parliament House for close on 30 years. The presenter spoke with Darren Bloomfield, the appointed keeper of the Sacred fire.
Canberra is going to celebrate its 100 year birthday in 2013. The City was established as the capital as Melbourne and Sydney could not decide who should be the capital so it was decided to have a neutral location.
Canberra is located about three hours drive from Sydney and six from Melbourne.
