When is TSA going to relax the 3 once liquid rule?

I read an article somewhere that in 2009 the TSA is supposed to release the liquid ban. When is this going to happen? We can say goodbye to little travel sized toiletries and $5 bottled water at the airport.

I think TSA will increase the maximum amount of liquid you can bring through the checkpoint before they just completely lift it. Everything that TSA does comes in increments.

I have friends in upper management in TSA and I’ve been told that supposedly this year (later this year) it will happen, but they to agree that they don’t think it’s a 100% liquid free rule.

They seem to believe that they will just raise the liquid amount to like 12 oz. Pretty much all liquid and gels excluding certain water bottles would be able to make it through.

Again, that’s just their take on it, and from what I’ve seen in the eight years that TSA has been here, I will trust their word over anything I read in papers.
