What are navy recruits aloud to take to basic training in Illinois.?

Would my boyfriend be aloud to take a nice set of stationary to navy basic training, or would they just confiscate it?
I am not talking about anything pretty. Probably something with the USA flag on it.

I wouldn’t go with a nice set. Just a basic pen and note paper, plenty of envelopes and stamps. Write him often.
