How do I mount saddle bags on my motorcycle with short shot pipes?

I have a 2003 fatboy, I bought detachable saddlebags for it. They are designed for the longer type pipes however(shotgun stlye). I have short shot pips, therefore not leaving anything for the right side saddlebag to attach to. Does anyone have any ideas?

Bags don’t attach to the pipes. They attach to the top of the frame, or to a harness running across the top of the rear fender or from fender supports. A leather (or pleather) bag should not touch your exhaust pipe, because there is a possibility of fire!
