How to remove a serious of dark brown leather splotches from olive green fossil leather bag?
I have a series of little dark brown spots on my brand new olive green leather bag. It’ll cost over 100 bucks to have cleaned. Is there a simple way of removing stains from leather? I’m not sure whay the stains are from but I think it’s either hand sanitizer or ink. Thanks
Please do not use alcohol or other general ink removers until you have determined what type of leather you have as they could make the problem much worse.
To check the type of leather see this useful flow chart:

If you have an aniline style leather then any stains will be virtually permanent but may dissipate with regular cleaning and protection – this type of leather needs protection with a very good quality protector to prevent staining and make it easier to keep clean:

If you have a protected leather you may be able to use a cleaner or ink remover (depending on the type of stain it is) to remove it. Again a protector will help to make cleaning easier.
There is a very simple handbag kit which will clean and protect your leather and keep it in good condition:

This kit will clean your leather for the life of the handbag.
Hope this helps
