What is the best car/suv in the mid-size, moderately priced category?

I have to haul 1 or 2 clients around nearly every day, I am 6’4″, and I want a fun but not expensive car that costs less than $28,000 with leather seats and a sunroof and preferably gets 20+ MPG in the city. I was thinking about the CR-V EX-L but it is a bit small.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

If the Honda CR-V is too small, then the only other SUVs in your

price range that will be close to (or will meet) your fuel economy
