LED or Mag num Xeon lamp for maglite? which is better/brighter? ?

I lost my boyfriend’s mag lite
so now I want to replace it with the best (he said his was custom?) lighting and some sort of special polygon shaped anti-rolling thing…help me buy the right thing pleeese!
pros & cons would be nice + consumer reports + comparisons
