The Singapore airlines Airbus A380 has been grounded for the due to a problem the fuel pump. The plane was due to fly to Sydney from Singapore however could not make the journey.

Singapore Airlines were forced to replace the superjumbo with a smaller capacity Boeing 747-400 as the airlines other A380 was undergoing routine maintenance.

This is the first grounding of the airline due to a fault with the airplane. Last month a flight was grounded after a tow truck pushing the aircraft damaged one of the wheels on the A380.

The new Airbus A380 superjumbo has been in service for close to two months now. Have you been lucky enough to fly on this giant of the skies? I will be looking at flying on it once the Sydney to London flight is opened by Singapore Airlines. Until then you can read a review by Carrie Berdon who recently flew from Sydney to Changi Airport in Singapore.

You can read her article here.

Qantas airlines plans to add some of the A380’s to the fleet as soon as Airbus can get them ready. By now there should have been a lot more of them in the skies. I can’t wait to take my turn on the superjumbo.
