G'day mate! you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for dropping by.

As we are getting closer to October and November now is a great time to be looking to book a holiday in Fiji. The water is lovely and warm at this time of year and it is said that water visibility is better at this time of year.

The last time I visited Fiji with my family we took advantage of the savings achieved by booking a Fiji package holiday. We were able to get seven nights for the price of four. We also had big savings on our meals as we pre-purchased our meals.

The resort we stayed at is the Shangri-la Fijian. It was a great resort. Lots of things to do and it is well maintained. We also spent a day at the Beachcomber Island. To get there we took a boat ride from Denarau Harbour near Nadi. The snorkeling at the island was fantastic.

Today marks one year to go until the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. You don’t need to wait until then to get a flight to Beijing and take in some top class sporting events.

Between now and May 2008 Beijing and the other cities in China that will be hosting Olympic events will be testing facilities by holding test events. Right now in Beijing there is a hockey tournament.

If sport is not what excites you there are plenty of other reasons to visit Beijing and beyond. A flight to Beijing takes around 12 hours 40 mins from Los Angeles and around 14 hours from Washington DC. Flying from London to Beijing the flying time is around 10 hours 30 mins.

Once you arrive in Beijing you have many great tourist attractions just waiting for you to explore. You could start with a day trip out to the Great Wall. Other must see places include Tiananamen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.

If shopping is more your thing you will find many of the name brands in fashionable shopping districts such as Wangfujing or if you like a bargain the Silk Market will be more for you.

Fiji Package Holiday

Fiji is one of my favorite travel destinations. The people are friendly, the weather is warm year round and the scenery is spectacular. There are many choices a tourist can make in terms of where to stay and what to see.

For me I think the best option is a Fiji package holiday. When arranging your vacation as a package deal you normally get a big discount on either the flight or the accommodation. Or you may save through food coupons or some other discounted product.

The last time my family and I went to Fiji we stayed at the Fijian Shangri-La resort. Our holiday was purchased as a package deal and as a result we received three days free accommodation.

The Shangri-La resort is about sixty minutes from Nadi International airport and is situated on the Coral Coast. The resort is on a small island connected to the mainland by bridge. There are many dining options available to guests of the resort. There are also many activities to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

To keep the kids entertained there is a kids club. Your children will be well looked after allowing you time to relax with your partner. My favorite activities included snorkeling and paddling on a canoe.

When we visited in December the water was a very pleasant temperature both in the ocean and in the resort swimming pools. My wife and I enjoyed a late night dip in the main swimming pool. I took advantage of the massage service offered in the health spa to further enhance my experience of rest and relaxation.
